The Clawslinger

I am proud to present my first-ever Wacom Tablet-created illustration!  I did the sketching and inking in my sketchbook, but did all the coloring on the tablet.  It's taken a while to get the hang of drawing with it, but I think it's starting to click!  I love the finesse it gives me, over a standard mouse.  Looking forward to coloring a Commander Hue illustration next!

The subject matter was inspired by The Dark Tower, though making the Gunslinger a crawfish was just an idea that popped into my head.  I felt like drawing something kind of dark and creepy.

Here is the original inked artwork, so you can compare the two.

The Great Corn Conspiracy

Here it is ladies and gents, the ugly, unfiltered origin of the corn we eat every day...

He-Man vs Thor

This is the sketch that inspired my Avengers vs Master of the Universe series a few months back.  I drew this one first, but decided it would take me too long to draw each of the battles this detailed, so I used a simpler style for those.   Superhero art isn't my specialty, so I'm proud of this one.

Journal Comics - Day 7!

Once you hit your 30's, exercise gets pretty hard.  Actually, at 33, just DECIDING to exercise becomes exhausting!

This is the last journal comic for now.  I'm sure I'll come back to it at some point.  It's a really fun project that forces you to be creative even in the face of monotonous daily life.

Thanks for stopping by!  Stay classy!

A special Father/Daughter moment was almost thwarted by today's "convenient" movie watching system.

Journal Comics 2012 - Day 2!

On day 2 of the Journal Comic experiment, Arwen made me furious.  "Little Trav never gets mad!", you tell yourself.  Well, just drop some red slurpy on my home office carpet and see what happens. ;-)

Journal Comics 2012 - Day 1

For the 2nd time in a year or so the group formerly known as "4after5" (now The Drawing Board) have taken a week of their lives and illustrated a comic strip per day, creating a visual journal of that week.  I'll be posting my week here and probably over at the DB blog as well.  Check back daily to see what my days were like 2 weeks ago!
