So, Shelley and I ate lunch at Counter Culture one day last week and I noticed a tub of gummi bears on the counter that they will put in your yogurt, if you so wish. That lead me to wonder...why bears? How did bears, of all animals, become the staple gummi fruit snack of the world? When I got to some paper I jotted down a sketch of a gummi bear in mid-air attack against a coiled-up gummi worm. Then I rethought the scene and just decided to show the bear as the victor against the horde of gummi challengers. What the victorious bear doesn't realize is that in the grand scheme of things, being the top fruit snack still makes you a snack. Oh, well, enjoy your victory, GB.

As an effort to further decorate my soon-to-be-born son's room I bought 4 chunky, blank plastic paint-them-yourself figures. We're going with a robot theme for his room, so I planned on painting all four robots. Instead of doing them all myself and having them look just like the paintings and poster I've already done for his room, I asked 3 of my artist friends to decorate one robot each. That way each one will have a unique look AND he'll have a special "birthday gift" from 3 of my friends. Above are pictures of the one I painted last night. I had to stop by Lowe's after work to get his "ears" though.
