I enjoyed drawing Rivers so much the other day I decided to sketch another of my favorite bands, They Might Be Giants. I've been a fan since 6th grade and I'm still listening to them today! My wife and I even ended our wedding to their song, "Birdhouse in your Soul".
Without further adieu...the Giants!

Weezer Tribute
I had a few minutes to burn tonight and haven't been on the Wacom Tablet in weeks, so I decided to pull a pic off the internet and practice my tablet skills tracing one of my favorite musicians, Rivers Cuomo, from the band Weezer. It's pretty messy, but i'm pretty sleepy...so there you go. Just wanted to get some time in on the tablet and have some fun. Hope some fellow Weezer fans out there find this one!

Hue meets Hellboy
I am proud to present my first attempt at digitally coloring AND inking an illustration on the Wacom tablet. For those who don't know, that is my long-time friend, Hue, below hanging out with Hellboy.
I'm still learning the ropes on the tablet, but the process is coming easier and it's been really fun to make the leap to digital.

Commander Hue - Now In Technicolor!
Here's my 2nd Wacom tablet color project, a Commander Hue sketch I drew earlier this year. I think my use of the tablet was actually stronger on the "Clawslinger" piece, but it's always exciting to see Hue in color and I think it turned out pretty decent. My next plan is to continue to practice inking with the tablet so I can refine every aspect of my illustrations with it.
And here's the Black & White inked sketch for comparison.

The Clawslinger
I am proud to present my first-ever Wacom Tablet-created illustration! I did the sketching and inking in my sketchbook, but did all the coloring on the tablet. It's taken a while to get the hang of drawing with it, but I think it's starting to click! I love the finesse it gives me, over a standard mouse. Looking forward to coloring a Commander Hue illustration next!
The subject matter was inspired by The Dark Tower, though making the Gunslinger a crawfish was just an idea that popped into my head. I felt like drawing something kind of dark and creepy.
Here is the original inked artwork, so you can compare the two.

He-Man vs Thor
This is the sketch that inspired my Avengers vs Master of the Universe series a few months back. I drew this one first, but decided it would take me too long to draw each of the battles this detailed, so I used a simpler style for those. Superhero art isn't my specialty, so I'm proud of this one.

Journal Comics - Day 7!
Once you hit your 30's, exercise gets pretty hard. Actually, at 33, just DECIDING to exercise becomes exhausting!
This is the last journal comic for now. I'm sure I'll come back to it at some point. It's a really fun project that forces you to be creative even in the face of monotonous daily life.
