Okay, so it's Tuesday! You got me! Weird Sketch Tuesday just doesn't sound right though. Here are a couple of sketches from my doodle pad at work. Hope you like 'em. I'm kinda diggin' that monstrosity myself.

I had a little time to draw this past weekend and this is what I came up with. Nothin' fancy. Just a couple of sketches of my favorite fantasy character, Drizzt, and the granddaddy of all superheroes, Superman.
Well, it doesn't have the same ring to it as Weird Sketch Wednesday, but who cares? Here's a weird sketch I drew during our last staff meeting. It started off just me wanting to draw a guy punching...then it turned into Iron Man...then it turned out that he was punching a bunny rabbit...it just happened like that....don't judge me...
I'm not sure how this came up, but for some reason last weekend Shelley said the phrase "He-Moo" in place of He-Man. That immediately sparked an image in my head...and here it is! This is kind of in line with the somewhat quasi-realistic versions of Darkwing Duck and Gizmoduck that I drew recently...only this is taking a non-animal character and making him a quasi-realistic cartoon. However you break it down, this is my favorite illustration in a while. I may come back later and draw some cow support characters: Moo-at-Arms, Tail-A, and Skelegor to name a few.
I thought the Darkwing Duck sketch would inspire me to draw his side-kick, Launchpad, but instead I ended up drawing fellow duck-vigilante, Gizmoduck, from the Duck Tales cartoon. I had forgotten all about Gizmoduck! He's like the Iron Man of the cartoon duck world. I had fun drawing him and I think he makes a good companion piece to Darkwing. Ducks are just fun to draw.
My daughter and I have been watching some old 80's & 90's cartoons online lately, and her newest favorite is my OLD favorite, Darkwing Duck! Watching that show again inspired me to sketch this half-realistic take on St. Cannard's favorite vigilante. Maybe I'll draw Launchpad McQuack next?
So, there's a blog I like to follow called "Covered" where artists take published comic book covers and redraw or re-imagine them and submit them to be posted on the Covered blog. I thought this was a great idea and recreated a recent Thor comic book cover for consideration. Being that Thor is covered in fire on the original, I thought it would be funny to recreate that, only have him freaking out about being on fire. I thought it turned out pretty well, but the Covered guy didn't think it made the grade, so I'm going to post it here instead. I've placed the original beside my version for easy & fun comparison. Hope you like it better than he did. :-/

I drew this Hue Green Lantern Corp. sketch during our latest staff meeting. Turned out pretty fun. The GL Spidey is an old sketch from a few months back that I had forgotten to scan in. Looking forward to the upcoming Green Lantern movie, though I doubt it will hold a candle to Thor. Hope you enjoy the sketches.
For your weird sketch viewing pleasure, the sivARTblog is proud to present...OCTODUCK! And yes, I can count, but I figured if 8 tentacles were cool, more tentacles would be MORE cool, am I right? I'm right. Enjoy.
