No contest here. Iron Man. Hands down. I always felt Man-At-Arm's inventions were pretty weak. I remember one time he "invented" at mobile 2 way wrist communicator. Congrats, Duncan. You made a walkie talkie.
ReplyDeleteIron Man crashes through the concrete walls of Man-At-Arm's laboratory. Duncan craps his furry pants and surrenders unconditionally. Iron Man quips a Depends joke and and makes out with Teela. The End.
I'll have to agree with Brad's assessment of weak inventions at the hands of Man-at-Arms. Iron Man would definitely make out with Teela, which would actually probably get things kicked off. Man-at-Arms would pick up his mace a give Iron Man a good college try, but Iron Man would just play around with him for awhile before blasting him into oblivion with a repulsor ray, leaving Man-at-Arms looking like Wile E Coyote after his ACME rocket exploded in his face.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Duncan is getting enough credit here. I don't disagree with the outcome though.
ReplyDeleteThe Runthough: Having been given advanced warning about the tournament and ample time to prepare, Man-at-Arms invents a super-durable body armor fitted with canon arms and force shields. Iron Man spends that time hitting (successfully) on Teela. At the battleground, Duncan's veteran warrior instincts allow him some early dodges and powerful offensive blows, but when he gets serious, there's no beating Tony Stark. Iron Man flies up, targets Man-at-Arms and lets go with everything he's got. Duncan's shields hold out for about 3 seconds before cratering and ending the fight.
